ADVENTURE

LIVING AND DYING ON EVEREST - (1 x 50 min)

It has been said that more people die getting to Everest than climbing it. In April/May 2000, award-winning filmmaker David Bolling reported on the Everest 2000 Environmental Expedition which had two goals: to climb the mountain and to clean off all trash, mainly oxygen bottles. From base camp he witnessed the dramatic summit attempt which almost ended intragedy, a near repeat of 1996.

TOY TRAIN TO THE CLOUDS - (1 x 55 min)

A charming portrait of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway - recently declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. Opened in 1881 between Siliguri in North India and Darjeeling in Sikkim, the line was built on tiny two foot gauge tracks and the journey was slow even by Victorian standards: the 80 km journey takes 8 hours - if the train is running on time!

  A RIVER SOMEWHERE - (13 x 30 min)

Getting there is half the fun! Two Australian actors allow their passion for fly-fishing to take them on a series of humorous journeys to some of the most extraordinary regions in Australia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Scotland, Italy, Bhutan, Belize, and the United States.
